The hotel is a charming spot right in the
Heart of Groningen, perfect for those wanting to explore. The lobby ambiance is inviting, and the breakfast selection was plentiful. Be prepared for steep stairs, which might be challenging for some guests.

Room offered comfort with a spacious seating area was good. The modern bathroom featured a walk-in shower.
A persistent musty odor greeted me upon entry and lingered throughout, notably stronger at the reception. Maintenance issues were also evident, especially with the power outlet looking a bit alarming.

The staff I encountered were extremely helpful and friendly. I asked about places to eat and drink, and they gave me extensive advice from a local's point of view. That was very helpful! The room was comfortable and clean, and the location is really unbeatable, right at the Grote Markt.
I can only think of two slightly critical things to say. First, the building itself has some strange (steep) stairs in it. I found them a bit awkward, though I understand that such things can't be helped in an old building. Second, the price was a bit steep for the quality of the hotel, though I understand that the prices are right in line with other comparable hotels in Groningen. Apart from those two minor things, I found the whole place very good.

Very central, comfortable, older hotel with great modern bathrooms, and very helpful staff. Not a modern wi-fi type place, but I'd stay there again.
